Semi-Finished

Polyester raw materials for the production of engineering materials such as rods, planks, and tubes.

The replacement of metals by polymers is an ongoing challenge to improve the properties or reduce the weight in all kinds of technical and mechanical applications. Because of its good electrical insulation, excellent dimensional stability, high chemical resistance, abrasion resistance and good machinability, Thermoplastic polyester is a widely used material for the production of Semi-Finished products:

  • Engineering and industrial applications; such as rods, planks and tubes.
  • Automotive industry
  • Machine building
  • Construction

High performance polyester (PET) resins

Compared to ‘standard’ polyesters, we have enhanced our grades even further to optimize your end-product or production processes. Our CumaPET and CumaBatch grades are widely used in applications in the automotive industry, machine building, and construction as well as many industrial and other technical applications.

Recycled PET for Semi-Finished production

Polyester semi-finished products present excellent opportunities for the use of recycled content. More importantly, if designed correctly, they can also be recycled themselves. Together with the recycling know-how of our sister company Cumapol and the compounding expertise of DuFor, we are able to help you close your loop. And in that way, add recycled content to your product. This helps you reach your sustainability goals.

We can add various characterics, such as:

  • Optimized modulus
  • Improved impact resistance
  • Excellent wear resistance
  • Light weighting
  • Recyclable
  • Metal replacement
  • Reduced coefficient of friction
  • Improved machinability/ processability
  • Increased melt-stability for hollow pipes/profiles
  • Thermal stability

Technical excellence

Using over 50 years of experience in polymer development and processing in a variety of applications, we help our customers to develop innovative, high-value, sustainable products and mechanical engineering solutions. Our technical team is able to translate your demands into the exact chemical structure of the polymer needed to reach these requirements. As part of our technical support, we offer our customers access to our R&D and Quality Assurance laboratories. These include a variety of equipment for chemical and physical analysis as well as pilot and lab scale production facilities. In these laboratories, we support you with extensive analyses of your end products to help further optimize the raw material selection and/or your production processes.
