Ever since I was a very young boy, I am fascinated with technical topics. I spend many days playing with technical Lego and with science sets for kids. I kept this fascination while growing up and it even resulted in achieving my masters’ degree in Chemical Engineering.
After my studies, I started working in the polymer Industry. My first job was developing recipes for various PVC profiles. In this job I learned a lot about extrusion and polymer processing in general. On the material side, I was responsible to determine which combinations of materials and additives we used in our production to ensure both smooth processing as well as the right end product properties. I always compared it with cooking a completely new recipe: picking the right ingredients in the right proportions, choosing the right oven temperatures and baking times.
A few years ago, I got the opportunity to join the Technical Team at DuFor. I was enthusiastic to take on this new technical challenge, so I happily accepted the job. In the first period I focussed on building up experience and learning everything I could regarding Polyesters and their processing in various applications. Nowadays, my main responsibility as Technical Account Manager is to help our customers with technical issues and answering their questions. The goal is to work together with them on process optimization and choice of material combinations, to create the best end product properties for their specific need.
Because of the combination of my background in chemical engineering and my experience in the working field, I can be of value to our customers in helping them to solve their process and product issues. This gives me the opportunity to further increase my technical experience and to build long-term business relationships based on mutual respect and trust.
Personally, I very much enjoy being able to develop new and/or more optimal products and processes together with our customers and the rest of our Technical Team. For the future, I am looking forward to further build the relationships with our customers and suppliers and to face many more interesting challenges.
